Entering the Courts of Heaven is a much smoother process if you know the players. In this episode of The Purpose Collective podcast I list each player and dive into their respective roles.

This particular teaching focuses on deliverance through a technology called the Courts of Heaven. Entering the courts of heaven is going to be key in the time to come, so make sure you are caught up on part one before moving forward.

Parties When Entering the Courts of Heaven

1. God

  • Judge over all the earth according to Genesis 18:25
  • The Hebrew word that the word judge is translated from means “to execute judgment”
  • God executes into place the reality of the verdict based on the virtues of the cross
  • God is merciful
  • According to the Hebrew definition of judge, God pronounces a judgments that are either
    • Vindicating or
    • Condemning and punishing

2. Jesus

  • “And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate [who will intercede for us] with the Father: Jesus Christ the righteous [the upright, the just One, who conforms to the Father’s will in every way—purpose, thought, and action]. And He [that same Jesus] is the propitiation for our sins [the atoning sacrifice that holds back the wrath of God that would otherwise be directed at us because of our sinful nature—our worldliness, our lifestyle]…” 1 John 2:1-2
  • The greek word used for advocate here means one who pleads another’s cause before a judge; counsel of defense; and legal aid
  • Jesus stands before God and represents our case and claim
  • “For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” 1 Timothy 2:5
  • As mediator, Jesus is removing everything that would keep us separated from God and bringing us into a place of reconciliation
  • Praying prayers that are legal testimony before God that gives Him legal footing to see His will completed and fulfilled
  • Jesus was appointed to operate in this realm on our behalf. He has the authority, and He is righteous which is a requirement to operate in heavenly realms.

3. Holy Spirit

  • The Holy Spirit is in us making intercession
  • We rely on His wisdom and knowledge as we operate in the court

4. Cloud of Witnesses/Tribunal

  • The spirits of just men made perfect. Hebrews 12:1-2
  • While on earth, they were righteous, kept the commands of God
  • Tribunal, not a jury

5. Accuser

  • Hebrew word for the devil is Diabolos which means false accuser and slanderer
  • One who brings a legal complaint and stands against you in the assembly
  • Revelation 12:10 tells us that he accuses us before God day and night

6. Accused

  • You or someone you have the right to stand in proxy of (spouse, children, ancestors)
  • Petition God for decisions of our behalf

The Books of Heaven

  • The cases heard from the books of heaven
  • “The court was seated, And the books were opened.” Daniel 7:10, AMP
  • King David said, “You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” Psalm 139:16, NLT
  • Everyone on earth has something written in their specific book. We all have kingdom mandates on our lives that were established before we were born.
  • Prophets prophesy out of these books

Who Can Bring a Claim?

  • Must have legal standing in the court; anyone can’t just come and have their case heard
    • Example: someone stole your neighbor’s dog and your neighbor doesn’t want to file a lawsuit against them, you cannot go file your own lawsuit against the thief just because you want to hold them accountable.

Satan has standing

Well, we know he has access to heaven because in the book of Job, when the sons of God went to present themselves before God inJob 1:6, Satan pulled up with them and he had a conversation with God.

Revelation 12:10 tells us that he is the accuser of the brethren who accuses us before God day and night. The Greek word for accuser means to make an accusation before a judge. So, we know he is there.

Children of God have standing

  • We have the Right to Come Before the Court because:
    • Jesus Christ
    • We are only righteous through Christ. His sacrifice is what allows us to come boldly before the throne of grace and glory and in this case the courts of heaven.
    • “If God is on our side, then tell me: whom should we fear? If He did not spare His own Son, but handed Him over on our account, then don’t you think that He will graciously give us all things with Him? Can anyone be so bold as to level a charge against God’s chosen? Especially since God’s “not guilty” verdict is already declared. Who has the authority to condemn? Jesus the Anointed who died, but more importantly, conquered death when He was raised to sit at the right hand of God where He pleads on our behalf. [Romans 8:31-34, VOICE]
