How to Position Yourself for God’s Move in 2024

Listen on  Apple Podcast Spotify  |  Google Podcast

If you haven’t already, then over the next few weeks you’ll likely start to hear prophets giving prophetic forecasts for the year. If you or anyone you follow goes by the Hebraic calendar then you have likely heard that this is the year of open doors.

God has called me to teach and equip or build up, so while I don’t have a word for the body for the year, I do have instructions for how we should posture ourselves to put us in the best spiritual position for what’s to come in 2024. Some of the doors opening in 2024 will be doors of great opportunity and great promise that the has actually been opened by the enemy.

Positioning for 2024

There are things coming this year that have the potential to be destructive. Some of the things coming this year are going to stretch our faith, so we need to be prepared which brings me to my first point.

1. Deeper

In 2024, God is calling us deeper—into deeper relationship with Him and into a deeper understanding of the kingdom of God. A lot of Christians have a very surface level relationship with God and understanding of spiritual realities. I’m not exempt from this, so please don’t hear this as judgment. It’s the truth. It’s also evident. It’s evident on social media. This year started with a very well known preacher and gospel singer going viral because his NYE service looked more like the club than it did a place of holiness seeking to usher in the presence of God. The reason why this is an example of relationship is because the service, well at least that part of the service wasn’t God-centered or God-focused. It was about the people. There was a young woman who vowed not to bring in the New Year in the club this year. She wanted to be with God but was shocked when she was met with Too Short as she entered the building.  people in the world present who were rebuking the service as not being conducive to them getting closer to God for the new year, and the Christians were the ones doing the defending of the secular music being played. The lack of relationship is also evident in the things we say and how we operate, especially during moments of adversity.

The Three Jewish Boys Who Knew God...

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego they KNEW God. They were friends of God. Why else would they deny the king when he told them to bow to the statue of the idol? Their story is in Daniel 3. I’m going to read a snippet of it because it helps to really see what was going on with them. Plus it’s probably been a long time since you’ve heard or read it. I know I haven’t read it in at least a year.

King Nebuchadnezzar made a gold statue, ninety feet high and nine feet wide. He set it up in the province of Babylon where Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were appointed to manage. After the statue was made, the king issued a decree commanding people of every nation and language to fall face down and worship the gold statue when they hear the music playing. Whoever does not fall down and worship will immediately be thrown into a furnace of blazing fire.

So the people did just that. When they heard the sound of music, they fell down and worshiped the gold statue the king had set up. Everyone did this except for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. At some point, some haters snitched and told the king that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

“There are some Jews you have appointed to manage the province of Babylon: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. These men have ignored you, the king; they do not serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.”

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego told the king, “If the God we serve exists, then he can rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire, and he can rescue us from the power of you, the king. But even if he does not rescue us, we want you as king to know that we will not serve your gods or worship the gold statue you set up.”

Now why would they say that to the King when they knew that the consequence would be death by the fiery furnace? The decree said they would be placed in the furnace and the king even reminded them after he summoned them to respond to the allegations. Yet, they still got spicy with the king and told him they would never bow to his gods. They preferred death over being unfaithful to God.

They made those bold statements to the king  and risk imminent death because they had a deep relationship with God. They really knew Him, I mean as much as a human can know God, but you get the point. They knew God on a personal level. They knew His character. They believed in His intentions. They trusted Him. God doesn’t just want this kind of relationship with certain people. No, He wants all of us to be in deep relationship with Him so that we know Him like this too.

There are benefits to knowing God on a personal level. He does things like tell you secrets and mysteries about His kingdom. He tells you what’s going to happen in the future. Jeremiah 33:3. When destruction is coming to the earth, God tells His friends!

This is why you’ll notice that some people have no anxieties or hesitations about what this year holds.

When thinking through the reason for the lack of depth in our relationship with God, I mean besides, you know, the coordinated efforts of the enemy, because one of the devil’s main objectives is to separate the children of God from their God with distractions, idolatry, and all other kinds of things. But besides that, when we think about this from the perspective of our contributions to the surface level relationship we have with God, I think there are two primary things that account for it. One contributor is our spiritual laziness. The other contributor is ignorance.

a. Spiritual Laziness

Spiritual laziness is the reluctance, indifference, or plain lack of doing the spiritual disciplines we are told to do in scripture God tells us to meditate on the word day and night, pray without ceasing, and study to show thyself approved—all areas we slack in by the way. Some people will do anything to get out of reading the Bible. They’ll read a quick devotional, watch a sermon, I mean annnyyyything.

Some tell tale signs of spiritual laziness are being too tired to read your Bible, not praying, ignoring promptings you get from God to do certain things, ignoring when He places specific people on your mind, not evangelizing and sharing the gospel with unbelievers, sleeping too much. We’re supposed to be vigilant. That word in Greek means to active and cautious, to watch. There’s no way we’re being active if we’re being lazy.

God has a lot to say about laziness in his word; a lot. One thing really stuck out to me. It’s from Proverbs 20:4 . It says “The sluggard does not plow in the autumn; he will seek at harvest and have nothing.” This proverb paints such a great picture of the effects of spiritual laziness. We’ll spend very little time with the Lord and still expect for our lives to reflect God’s favor. Food for thought.

b. Ignorance

When it comes to ignorance, there are a lot of things we just don’t know when it comes to how to walk out our faith and follow Christ. We don’t know what being in relationship with God really requires from us. We also don’t know what to do to cultivate a deeper relationship with God. The big one though is, we don’t even realize that there IS a deeper place. But there is much, much deeper. We haven’t even scratched the surface. The beautiful thing is, God wants us to experience Him deeply and intimately, we just need to show up and

Listen, don’t hear this as judgment. These messages minister to me before I share them with you. One area that I’ve been focusing on to go deeper in God is spending more time with him. It was time for me to increase the time I spend with Him, especially in prayer.

My perspective on prayer has shifted which I’ll share with you during the masterclass, but in short most of the time I spend in prayer is me ministering to God. I’m not really asking for much of anything. I’m spending much more time reading God’s word. I don’t want to share how long because I don’t want you measuring yourself against me. I want God to reveal more of himself to me. Like John Mulinde says, “Who is this God I’m coming before.” I’m looking for Him as I read instead of just reading for how the word applies to me.

God wants relationship and connection with us much more than we want relationship with Him. After all, He created us FOR Him. If we are going to navigate 2024 well, we will have to go deeper. How?

Pursue holiness, righteousness, and a consecrated life

These are the things a lot of people avoid preaching and teaching on these days. God tells us in His word to be holy. “but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” I Peter 1:1516 NKJV. “Love righteousness and hate iniquity/wickedness.”

Holiness, righteousness, and purity applies to our deeds AND our heart. God knows our thoughts. In Jeremiah 17:10, God says “I, the LORD, search and examine the mind, I test the heart, To give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds.” We are naked before God.

Consecrate means to make or declare sacred; to observe as holy; to set apart. “Consecrate yourselves, therefore, and be holy, for I am the Lord your God.” Leviticus 20:7

How do we do this? Follow God’s standards for how He wants things done, instead of how culture says things should be done. Draw closer to Him and He will draw closer to you. He will renew your mind and guide you in how to live a consecrated life pursuing holiness, righteousness, and purity.

2. Embrace the spiritual and supernatural.

Everyone else is operating in the supernatural except God’s children. Witches, warlocks, sorcerers, satanists are all using the supernatural power God gave us against us. We need the power of God!!

Power is a sign of God’s Kingdom.

For the kingdom of God is not based on talk but on power.” 1 Corinthians 4:20, AMP. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 2 Timothy 3:5. That’s called religion. The Bible tells us that we are to avoid people like this.

Spiritual Warfare.

We need power to combat the kingdom of darkness. I’m not sure where this started but people think that the devil has no power. He does. You’ll be shocked by how much he controls in the world, how much money his kingdom has access to, and what kinds of things he can do. I mean, you already know he can turn into a dragon. Scripture tells us that. So yes, he has power. The thing is, his power has nothing on the power of a believing Christian who lives a life of consecration.

Apostle Chazdon Strickland recently brought up the fact that when we reject the supernatural, we’re rejecting a part of Jesus.

The kingdom of darkness is operating in the supernatural, using power illegally against Christians. The earth was created to obey the voice of the children of God. God went from speaking to creation to having us speak things into existence.

How do we get power and operate in the supernatural?

God’s word tells us that we receive power from the Holy Ghost.

I don’t know about you but God has called me to heal the sick, cleanse the leper, raise the dead, and cast out devils. So, I’m letting him teach and train me on how to operate in this way.

3. Evaluate Everything & Everyone

NOTHING is what it seems and no one is who they appear to be. There are a lot of people who are presented with truth and they decide to ignore it. That isn’t gonna cut it in 2024. It leaves you vulnerable to being deceived about the deeply hidden things.

For example, I recently saw a video of a man who made a blasphemous claim in front of an entire congregation of people and they amen’d it. The video is from 2019 when Marvin Sapp was installed as bishop of a church. I just found out about it a few months ago. The man is Jamal Bryant who oversees a very large church in Atlanta. He was preaching at Marvin Sapp, a gospel artist, church. During his sermon he said that Jesus was in error 85% of his life because he was doing what his natural father wanted him to do, which is to be a carpenter. That is a lie.

First of all, Jesus could never be wrong because he is God in the flesh. Colossians 1:15 says that Jesus, “is the image of the invisible God.” After Jesus was baptized, God said “this is my son in whom I am well pleased.” Jesus was perfect. If he wasn’t, then he wouldn’t be the spotless lamb that allows us to be saved.

This is why I mentioned in the first episode of the exposing deception series that those who are ignorant of scripture are vulnerable to being deceived. We have to check everything against scripture because all of scripture is written inspiration of the Spirit of God. But if we don’t know the scriptures, then people can tell us anything and if it sounds good, and it will sound good, we are more susceptible to believe what that person says. And it could be a blasphemous error just like it was in this case with Jamal Bryant.

Put your beliefs under a microscope too...

While talking to a friend, I asked him for an update on how things were going with the girl he was dating the last time we spoke. In a nutshell, he told me they weren’t dating anymore because he told her he doesn’t have time to be in a committed relationship. He said this a few times as there was a new person wanting to date him. He told her the same thing.

I was a little confused about his statement because there is absolutely no reason why he doesn’t have the time. Plus, he talks about how he desires a partner. Now why would someone who wants a relationship, think that they don’t have time for a relationship? Why would they think that? Especially considering how important marriage is.

God even said it is not good for man to be alone and then he gave the man a wife. The word of God tells us that, “He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord.” There is favor attached to having a wife. Yet, the enemy has men out here thinking they don’t have time for a relationship.

In 2024, interrogate your traditions and beliefs. Evaluate the people you listen to and have around you. Pray and ask God for the gift of the discerning of spirits to operate in you.

4. Kill the idols

God deals with idolatry harshly. He was about to wipe out the Israelites for it, He turned against them, he brought disaster on them. He likened them serving other gods as whoring and prostitution. In Judges 2:17 says, the Israelites prostituted themselves with other god, bowing down to them. Just because God gives us grace doesn’t mean he doesn’t still hate these practices and won’t punish them accordingly.

God commands us to have no other gods before Him. The Hebrew word that we translate to the word “before” is the Hebrew word al. That word doesn’t mean what we think. It means in addition to, beside, together with. We shall have no other god in addition to the God of the Bible. We shall have no other god beside our God.

Having another god before God is very easy to do. Anytime we go to something to receive what God freely gives us, we make the source behind that thing our god. This is how the great fall happened and satan became the god of this world. We created the devil because we gave him our authority and dominion when Adam made him his god by making him his source. Adam and Eve exchanged the truth of God for a lie!

Examples: horoscopes (future), crystals (peace/protection), secret societies like fraternities, sororities, and freemasonry.

God is releasing judgment on those in idolatry.

Many have prophesied that there is a spirit of premature death that has been unleashed on those in idolatry. I have noticed that a lot of members of sororities, fraternities, and freemasonry are dying, and dying young. By young I mean under 40. This is not a coincidence. God gave this very word to multiple people. God is also giving A LOT of us visions and dreams of Greeks burning in houses and one person had a dream of Greeks actually in hell.

I’ve known about this for months but didn’t know how to share it. This is a VERY hard thing to talk about for many reasons. I recently felt pushed to share it after someone replied to a comment I made on LaLa’s video about Christians in sororities and fraternities. My comment talked about how after I renounced DST but a couple days before I released a podcast episode about it, God gave me this prophetic dream of a woman trapped in a burning house. I was standing outside and happened to look in a window and I saw her. I give a more in-depth account of the dream at the end of my denouncing episode.

The woman stuck in the house threw something at the window but wasn’t able to break it. However, I was able to break the glass from the outside and help her climb out of the window before the house was completely consumed by fire. I posted a comment with this on the video and mentioned that this stuff is SERIOUS to God.

I posted that comment around August or September of 2023. Here we are in January 2024 and a couple days before I released this episode someone responded to my comment and said, “Wow! Why did my brother in law cousin who was a delta died just like this in 2022. He was definitely showing you something! I pray that many of his family members denounces soon. That dream was not in vain, he was showing you what actually occurred.” God is giving us dreams and visions that are vivid and accurate.

Here’s another aspect to this that I’ve been thinking about after being confronted with these revelations, but how is someone God thinks is an abomination and detestable going to make it into heaven? After all, an abomination is something regarded with hatred. Idolaters have a god, even if they have it in addition to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Does intent matter??

When it comes to idolatry, I hear and see a good amount of people take the position that the person’s intent matters. If they don’t intend to worship or serve another God, then they are not in fact serving or worshiping another God and that just isn’t how it works.

When we’re speeding while driving, most times we intend to drive right? We also intend to drive the speed we’re driving. However, sometimes while intending to drive the speed we’re driving, we don;t always know the speed limit. So, if an officer pulls someone like this over and tells them they were speeding, the driver is likely going to be surprised. They’re still getting a ticket though. Why? Because the law was still broken and intent to drive over the speed limit is not required. The act of driving is enough.

Adam and Eve

They intended to eat the fruit, right? Of course they did. But, they had no idea that the act of eating the fruit was in effect, them making Satan their god. They didn’t intend to give over their authority to him. But, because they trusted what he said and did it, that was enough. When we go to things for something that God freely gives us, we make the source behind those things our god.

Ananias and Sapphira

As best we can tell they were believers in Christ because they were joining the other believers. They intended to deceive Peter about the amount of money they made when they sold their home. They wanted to keep a little in a stash for themselves.  But they didn’t just lie to Peter. No. Peter tells them point blank, “you have not lied to people but to God.” They absolutely intended to lie, but they had no intention of lying to God. That didn’t matter though.

Similarly, it doesn’t matter that a person doesn’t intend to serve another god by being in a secret society. Even though they didn’t intend to serve or worship idols, they did intend to pay dues, perform rituals, and do service for secret societies with idols attached to them. Same goes for horoscopes and crystals.

If we are going to be in proper position for 2024, we have to kill the idols in our lives. Your idol may not be a secret society. It may be food, sleep, or sex. Either way. Get rid of it.
