What if you know your purpose is calling for you to do something that you don’t believe you are capable of? This is how limiting beliefs present themselves.
If you do not think you are capable, then there is a strong chance that you will opt to not walk in your purpose. This is how limiting beliefs hinder purpose. As your kind, yet no-nonsense purpose pusher, that can’t happen on my watch!
So, I had to call in some reinforcement. I invited Kimberly Boone, a licensed clinical therapist, on the podcast to not only explain in detail what limiting beliefs are, but to also help you move past your limiting beliefs.
Kimberly is the CEO and founder of Mental Chatter, LLC and has been in the field of mental health and addictions for over 19 years.
Kimberly is clinically trained to treat and assess various mental health disorders. Yet, she specializes in treating anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, marriage and family, as well as, addressing spirituality and cultural issues.
She believes in treating the whole person and feels that we are connected through our minds, bodies, and spirits.
As a certified master life and business coach, Kimberly works with women of faith by equipping them with tools and techniques to help rid themselves of the limiting beliefs that hinders them from walking into their purpose.
No More Limiting Beliefs
In this episode we covered…
- Kimberly’s decision to stand up to her parents and change her major in college to something that allowed her to marry her purpose to her career.
- How becoming a therapist gave Kimberly direct access to God’s people in the capacity she needed to reach them.
- The definition of limiting beliefs and examples of how they are hindering your purpose.
- Steps to overcoming limiting beliefs through the catch it, check it, and change it formula.
- Tips for how to find a therapist and how to evaluate your first therapy session.
This episode is packed with tools to help you any time you experience a limiting belief.
How will you incorporate this information into your life? Often we consume a lot of information and forget that we must also apply it. So as you learn here on the Purpose Collective, make sure to implement as well.
