The Purpose of a Budget: How to Achieve Financial Wholeness

More than half of Americans do not have a budget. Nor can they cover a $1000 emergency. The purpose of a budget isn’t always clear though.

In this episode, we’re diving even deeper into the topic with Tionna from The Honest Plan.

Tionna Tyson is a millennial money coach for first generation black women looking to break the paycheck-to-paycheck cycle and reach their financial goals. Just a few years ago she felt like she was drowning in debt, could never get ahead from so many surprise “emergencies,” and she was constantly digging herself deeper into financial stress.

After 6 years of struggling with money and feeling like she was in a never-ending cycle, she finally cracked the code and found a system that has helped her feel more confident in her finances. She’s now a certified financial educator and teaches other women how to do the same.

In this episode, she broke down the purpose of a budget and how to get started creating your own.
